CMS Made Simple Forums

I am beginning to put together forums and forms, I manage to install the forums module but as I include

{cms_module module="Forum"}  It gives the following:

  Forum name    Last post
Forum Hadoop/Voldemort Discussion
Forum for discussion of Hadoop and Voldemort related subjects 0 Posts
in 0 Topics

*  Are there themes available that I could use for the display and edit templates?  the defaults are very simplistic.  When
    I create a new topic and post, the new post does not show up!  It does not show up in the Admin Panel either.
*  Can someone point me to a link to describe how forms communicate the values to the form to the backend?

I am not sure if there are themes available for this, but I managed to change the look of the forum by editing the templates within the forum manager area.  It's nothing too fancy, but you can at least change the colors of the cells and swap out the images.
