Hi

I have a user in the "Main Editor" group who cannot see the "Add New Content" link, even though in Users & Groups > Group Permissions the Add Pages tick box is ticked for that group.

Logging in as admin, I can see the "Add New Content" link OK.

Apart from Add Pages, the other items ticked for Main Editor on the permissions page are Approve News For Frontend Display, Delete News Articles, Modify Any Page, Modify Calendar, Modify Files, Modify News, View Tag Help.

V. 1.6.4.

Thanks for any pointers!   ;D

Paul,

New permission allows people with the permissions you mentioned to ONLY create pages under a page, where they have permission to already. So you have to make that group/user the owner/add-editor of some pages and they can modify that page and create pages under it.... They cant make root-pages though, that has to be done by the manage-all-content permission (which allows modifying the options-tab of a page as well).

So in short, make them add-editor for the pages they have top-level access to, and these will appear to be editable and creating pages underneath will be possible.

Hi Ronny

Thanks very much for explaining this to me - I was not aware it worked that way.  I have now made the Main Editor group an additional editor in most pages and the user can see the Add New Content link.

Thanks again!

Paul
