(solved) NMS (Newsletter Made Simple) broken in 1.6.5

Hi there,
after an upgrade to CMSMS 1.6.5 the Module NMS 2.2.2 is beahaving weird/broken. It's not possible any more to subscribe to any list, the module's front-end simply (that's why it has the nifty but misleading word  'simple' in it's name I guess) is not functional any more. The subscription form is displayed but It doesn't do anything.

Has anyone managed to get NMS 2.2.2. to work again on 1.6.5 or is there an alternative?
