GD issue installing 1.5.4 (Carolina) on W2K3 Server

Hey,
I am new to CMS Made Simple, and am trying to install it on W2K3 server under IIS 6.
I have read multiple posts on GD library not found issues, and I am having the same problem.
I have reinstalled php with all extensions so php_gd2 dll is in ext folder
php.ini has extension_dir point to ext folder
php.ini has extension uncommented for gd2
php.ini file is in c:\windows
I have tried copying the gd2 dll to the system32 folder
I have restarted IIS multiple times
But I keep getting the gd library missing error.
Nothing appears in php_info() for gd2 library
Pulling my hair out here
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance
Adam

One, not a cmsms problem it is a php/gd problem.
Second, 1.5.4 is no longer supported.

Gee, thanks for just blowing him off. I love CMS Made Simple, but sometimes the attitudes in the forum stink. How about this: I am trying to install 1.63 on my local computer. I have the following setup:
Windows XP with all service packs etc. installed
Apache 2
PHP 5
MySQL 4
I have exactly the same issues. I have checked and double checked that the db drivers and the gd library are installed and enabled. Those two extensions consistently fail during setup.
Now. How about politely telling me this is a php issue and not CMSms? At least that way I won't feel like you are blowing me off -- something that happens way too often when help is requested.

Once the problem has been ascertained to be with the PHP install, it's not a CMSMS problem.
Just like it's not a CMSMS problem to teach you how to create databases and mysql users for that database, how to clear up disk space, how to setup permissions, how to adjust your router so that others can access the information on your localhost, etc.
There's a minimum amount of knowledge you need to have to use this package, and minimum system requirements. If you're having problems getting this knowledge, or meeting the minimum system requirements there are better places to ask these questions than here. and it's not our job to answer them. we support CMSMS, not the OS, or the tools it needs to run.

Hi Adam,
