Additional content block types such as form select

It would be really useful to have additional content block types to allow for pre-populated form select and multi-select boxes whose content is either read from within the template or from an external text or xml file. This would be for content editors to use to make it simple for them to choose certain options when adding / editing pages.
Examples of how this could be utilised are.
1. Assigning FEU's to a page so that the content editor can easily choose from a list the group(s) which are allowed to use this page. The value could then be passed to a variable which can be used in numerous ways i.e $ccuser->memberof($variable)
2. Tagging or categorising pages which the site search could use
