Install fails at step 6

Hi folks,

I can't seem to get past step 6 of the installation for version 1.6.  Connection to the database works fine, but the install page just gives me:

Creating additional_users table... [failed]
Creating admin_bookmarks table... [failed]
Creating index in admin_bookmarks table... [failed]
[snip similar lines]
Creating version table... [failed]
Importing sample data...Invalid query: INSERT INTO cms_version VALUES (32);

Please can someone advise how to get the actual SQL error message so I can debug this, instead of just '[failed]' which isn't really all that helpful.

Thanks!

Philip

Oh, I just found this: http://forum.cmsmadesimple.org/index.ph ... 110.0.html

I'll see if my host can upgrade the database, but surely this should ideally be checked earlier on in the installation, if it's a real problem?  At least the System Requirements at http://www.cmsmadesimple.org/support/faq/ need updating...

Ok, better upgrade System Requirements for NEW installation.
Requirement is MySQL 4.1.3+ (more 3 years ago) and not 5.X forum post

My host doesn't want to upgrade to a more recent version of mysql, so short of changing my provider, I've had to stick with CMSMS 1.5.  Can't 1.6 be made compatible with the earlier software?  Surely there isn't that much of a difference.

Regards,

Philip
