I have uploaded .flv file to /uploads/flash folder, in FCK editorX I added .flv file to a website but it fails to play?

Well, erm, i'm a bit confused.
The FCK editor cannot play .flv files.
Even your browser can't.
You need a FLV player like NeoLao or JW Player.
To manage videos you can also use the FLV Player module.
But it contains no player. It is just for managing.
You need to setup the player by yourself.
How to setup the player see the developers documentation.

So what exactly is the problem?

flv's are not flash files. Cannot be used without a flash flv player.

There is a module called FLVPlayer, check it on the forge.
