Classified Ads for Front end users - memberads

Has anybody successfully installed memberads? I seem to be able to display the edit page (with message: "Your ad is currently disabled") but the display page fails.
I don't think this module is going to do what I require anyway. I need a module that will allow registered users to place an ad including photograph(s) and contact details etc. A thumbnail in the summary etc etc
Any ideas anybody? Surely I am not the only person who wants to provide his users with this facility.
