I have a multilanguage site and I am using mod_rewrite. I had everything up and running and had to move the site from my XP box to a newly installed Vista box. Before I moved the site everything was working as it should. Now it has stopped working on my original site as well Only thing I can remember that was changed since it was working was some page alias ,added meta information on the pages and turned off and on mod_rewrite module.

After installation (on the new box) of Wamp and cmsmadesimple everething seemed to to work. I then turned on the mod_rewrite and started to get problems. My PHP version is 5.2.6 and my Apache is 2.2.8. My CMS-version is 1.5.4

I have two languages on the site (en & se) but are only able to view one. Let's say I am on the swedish page then my URL looks like

http://192.168.10.39/se/test

When I clik on the english flag my URL chages to the correct one

http://192.168.10.39/en/test

but my content does still show swedish content. When I chose another option from the menu the URL goes back to the 'se' option.

When I turn off the mod_rewrite everything works fine and I am able to view both languages again. My .htaccess looks like below

If anybody out there have any ideas of what I can do to fix this I would be very happy!

Finally! The rewrite rule in .htaccess was wrong.

Old rule
  RewriteRule ^(.+)$ index.php?page=$1 [QSA]

New rule
  RewriteRule ^([^/]+)/(.*)$ index.php?page=$2&hl=$1 [QSA]
