Fatal Error when previewing in FCKeditorX

When I try to preview in FCKeditorX I get this message:
Fatal error: Smarty error: [in preview:cmspreviewpwRPDd line 289]: syntax error: unrecognized tag: document.forms['gmi_search_motds'].txtValue1.value=document.forms['gmi_search_compass'].find.value; document.forms['gmi_search_motds'].submit(); return false; (Smarty_Compiler.class.php, line 436) in /home/meloniem/public_html/test/lib/smarty/Smarty.class.php on line 1088
Im running .11.2
on:
Operating system: Linux
Apache version: 1.3.34 (Unix)
PERL version: 5.8.7
PHP version: 4.4.1
MySQL version: 4.0.25-standard
Im a novice when it comes to PHP and CMSs. Please advise.
