Could anyone help with removing CMS from the remote server. My website was put together for me by a business which has now gone bust. I need to start again with the site but first I want to remove CMS. I've made a few simple html pages but when I load them they viewing as corrupted. I've renamed the old index.php to get it out of view but I've came to the conclusion that I need to remove the CMS to view the site as plain html. All help appreciated.....

Delete the files, delete the database.

To delete the right files (if you have CMSMS and plain html combined), download the installation file and find which files CMSMS writes on the server.

I can't think of any reason why this would be true, unless perhaps the CMSMS install is rewriting URLs with an HTML extension, and somehow the resulting name matches the name of one of your physical HTML files.

Exactly what kind of corruption are you seeing on the HTML files?

When I read the page through a browser, it mysteriously finds the old index.php, ignores index.htm, but won't read the corresponding stylesheet! Don't worry I think I'll take the first suggestion and just delete everything. My fear is that I'm not sure which files and folders have been generated with CMS and which are the originals. Or if I need to change any server settings to reset the html preference! Thanks anyway....

CMS doesn't change any server settings. what did you rename the index.php to that it is still getting found by the server?

When I said delete the files it was assuming that you didn't want anything from the old site, which is typically what someone means when you say you want to uninstall something. And any new files that you have upload you could upload again.
