Admin Login Question

Hello All,

I have a fresh installation of Simple CMS running on XAMPP 1.7.0. As long as I'm running from my localhost everything works perfectly. As soon as I change the path settings on config.php from 'http://localhost/' to 'http://www.mysite.com' the admin site stops working. I can see the site and all associated pages with no issues but the admin site does not go beyond the login screen.

On the login screen I enter my username and password and when I submit it goes back to the same screen. This is from the same computer, so no other settings other than the one above have changed. Can someone shed some light on this issue?

Thanks,

Al Ortiz

I believe this is a path problem in config.php, but since it's on your comp. why do you need mysite.com...

I think he might be moving the site from his local machine to his 'live' domain and forgot to say that.

If that is the case the path isn't simply going to be http://www..com

The easiest way to find out would be to rerun the installation procedure which in most cases autodetects your path settings.

I also guess its a path problem in config.php.
Its several paths to change not just one or two....

I had this same problem-

Moving a site from one domain to another on the same server- double checked everything and it all worked OK, FEU would let me log in, site all worked properly, but couldn't log into admin and no login/password error message displayed no matter what was entered, the admin page just reloaded. I found this post and mention of paths and double checked- they all looked fine.
On about the 100th time of looking at config.php I realised that the old site was set up to use the domain with the www and the new domain without, but when I'd edited config.php I'd left the www in from the original domain.

Removing the www from root_url solved the problem. Phew.

What is "6.2"?  Do you mean CMSMS 1.6.2?  If so, it is no longer supported.  Please upgrade to 1.6.5 or 1.6.6 and post back with your system information if the problem continues?
