I've just started using the built in TinyMCE instead of FCKeditor.

All seems to be going well other than one seriously annoying issue.  If I select some text and put some formating on it, say change the font type, then click of it and go do something else. When I come back to it and try altering the formatting again, say make it font size 36, it doesn't do it, the font remains exactly as it was.  I don't seem to be able to apply 2 items of formatting to text. I've set up a website for my wife and she keeps telling me she can't alter her text to look the way she wants. I don't want to have to set up loads and loads of classes, its' easier just to let her alter font and size as and when she wants.

Anybody got any idea what is wrong?  How can I fix it please?

Your best bet is to do it with classes or have her learn how to turn tiny of when editing and remove whatever fromatting has been applied then apply another after turning tiny back on...

So we're sayong it's just a problem with tiny then?  Liek I say doing it via classes means creating a heck of a lot of classes for varying font and size of text.  There is no way that I'd want anybody having to mess about with the html side of things, they woudn't have a clue.

Such a shame, I was very impressed with the way teh system was working, all seemed very good, I didn't really use the wysiwyg so I didn't notice there was an issue.  The main bulk of teh site was made up using classes and hand editing code.

Is there another WYSIWG that does work properly?  I'm sure FCK did but I coudln't get css classes to work with it so I gave up on it due to lack of support.

I've been using TinyMCE on many websites without problems, but with a new installation this week I can't 'see' any formatting when I'm in the TinyMCE editor.  When I click the Apply button, all the changes appear on the live webpage, but not in the editor itself.

I'm not 100% sure if this is the same as your problem, but I thought I'd post this msg anyway.

I'm starting to investigate the 'why' and what I'm reading in the forum is :

- go to Extentions / Modules, and UNINSTALL TinyMCE
- reinstall TinyMCE

If that doesn't work, try the following - I read this by clicking Module Help button when in Extensions/TinyMCE:
- re-upload the TinyMCE module onto your server

I'm not sure if either of these will help you, but you definitely should not have to get your wife to learn 'classes' -  it should be much easier than  that
