CMSMS 1.5.3 (both servers)

I'm tearing my hair out over this... I recently transfered a site from one server to another. In the new server, all the images / urls are generate as direct URLs.

I checked the old server, and generate relative URLs was unchecked, so I checked it, and it changed all the links across the site to relative.

So I tried the same on the new server, but the links stayed as Direct URLs (really dont want to go through and change it all). 

I really don't understand as they are the exact same set up.... really really appreciate your help

Do you use TinyMCE WYSIWYG ? Which CMSms module version ?
About the images please elaborate : how do you upgrade them ? How do you integrate them in your content ?
Have you tried some {showbase thisthat} tuning in conjunction with "generate relative URLs" ?
What is "exact same setup" ? Same CMSms config, very same to the hardware spec, or else ?
