Add users with Front End Users

Hello All,
I have installed CMS made simple and have a website up and running however I have decided that I would like to password protect it. There most likely more ease of use and functionality using Front End Users Module rather than .htaccess.
I have read a number of forums relating to this module however they seem to focus more on how to implement the module rather than step by step adding users. It is most likly something very simple - I just cant find the button to add a user.
I have tried adding users normally and then adding them to the front end users group but this does not work.
I have installed Custom Content but there is no setting for this module as far as I can see.
I am using the latest version of Front end Users and version 1.5.1 of CMS MADE SIMPLE. More details can be given if needed.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
Brian
