[SOLVED by FF] Creating Javascript popup Crashing Vista IE7

I just upgraded one of my CMSMS sites from ver 1.2.3 to 1.5.2. It's on a shared hosting set-up at Hostgator. I have PHP 5.2.8, MySQL 5.0.67, Apache 2.2.11 (Unix) running on Linux.

There are three people who update this site. One of them is having trouble since the upgrade with creating a pop-up link in the file picker. She's using IE7 and it always worked fine before the upgrade, no troubles. Now, as soon as she presses this button:

... IE apparently just crashes completely.

I've tried the same thing on my computer with my IE7, and I have no troubles whatsoever, so I can't replicate the problem. It also works fine for me in FF 3.0.6.

She also tried it at her workplace today and it apparently worked there just fine. Does anyone know if this is a browser setting problem that didn't affect CMSMS in earlier versions but it's now not liking something CMSMS 1.5 is doing??? Or is it a TinyMCE problem or setting I need to change somewhere? (That was my only other idea for what might be wrong.)

TIA. :D

Check the version of IE7 that is erroring and the ones of the working ones... .... there are difference in there... ie an example is one version of IE7 is view as IE6 and IE7... So start there to get leads on what is going on...

Hope this helps

Thanks for the quick response, Jeremy. I had to wait until my morning before she could answer my question from last night as she's three hours ahead of me. :D

OK - her non-working version is 7.0.6001.18000.

My working version is 7.0.5730.11.

She added that she's tried "every dang update that I can do without just randomly pushing buttons and seeing what happens, and still no go."

Yes - she has Vista at home, apparently, and XP at work. I'm on XP. Hmmm...

thought so... I couldn't reproduce the error, so you want to have her check her system logs... it'll say why IE crashed... this is more of a system error now... but the root could still be in the js of that pop up...

I'll need more information to help.. unless someone else here has had this happen and knows...

Sorry I can't be of more help

cheers

OK, I'll let her know. I doubt she knows how to check log files. I'm wondering if I know. I certainly wouldn't know about it on Vista, being an XP girl meself.

I may be stuck restoring to where we were, horrid as that is. Maybe I could get her to finally try Firefox. ;) :D

Thanks so much for the input, Jeremy! Much appreciated.  :)
