Editing Images

I recently installed version 1.5.2. I try to change an image in the image manager eg resize. I click on the green tick mark and then on Save. Then I can choose the image type (jpg) but the green tick mark has now disappeared so I cannot confirm the changes. So the changes are not saved. Can anyone help please?
