News module - album tag in custom field

I'm trying to add the Album module tag with my news articles. The thing is I do not want to add the tag either in the "summary" block or "detail" block. I want to add it separately in a custom field. For this purpose I created a new field with the type "text area" but when I place the tag in it, it just displays the smarty tag, for example "{cms_module module="album" categories="3" album="5"}" and not the album as it normally would. Is there way get around this problem? Any help will be greatly appreciated.
