Erroneous Code Display, Non-Intuitive Content Control

I wanted something simple and easy, and found this CMS first. Read a few chapters while waiting for it to upload.
Install went smoothly, had to modify some permissions, but no big deal.
I wanted a simple blog-like layout. Couldn't be found. So I tried to create it.
I delete the pre-installed entries. Btw, wtf is that about? No one is going to want that stuff. At the most, a single entry for practice. But there are several entries. That's kinda retarded, but whatever, deleted.
Now for the main reason for me to install a cms: post an entry on my site.
I put in some CSS code as part of the post as that was the main reason for me to start using a CMS: bitch about code suggestions on the net, then offer real-world solutions that actually work.
I even use the Code style to wrap my code. I also try the code sample style.
Both screw up. Getting:
string(149) "Smarty error: [in content:content_en line 2]: syntax error: unrecognized tag:
text-align: center;
(Smarty_Compiler.class.php, line 446)" string(117) "Smarty error: [in content:content_en line 2]: syntax error: unrecognized tag '' (Smarty_Compiler.class.php, line 590)"
Despite these not technically being in a tag, but a part of my post, I get this crap.
So I look up modules that would maybe put a Code button in the rich text editor so maybe they'd be wrapped in a recognizable recognized tag:
None found.
If you want a CMS to handle code samples, don't use this one as a simple, easy-to-use option. This one will take work.
I don't have alternatives at the moment, but I'm looking. Kinda tired of dealing with it after spending about an hour downloading, uploading and installing this one.
