Upgrade virgin in need of help. :o

Websites attacked by Palestinians and have reverted from v1.4.1 to v1.3.1 with loss of all navigation.  Website developer not returning calls or e-mail.

Propose to upgrade from v1.3.1 to v1.5.1 then try and sort out CSS.  However, having read guide on CMS website it does not seem to follow upgrade files and cannot work out how to work it.  Seems to assume a button to upgrade and all I see is a whole list of files.

I am accessing the site database using filezilla and have already made a back-up.  As far as I am aware we have a basic set-up without messing with the php files.  We only have English on the website.

Anyone able to help?

First you need a good copy of the DB before you were hacked then make sure it works by using it in the site, all CSS, templates, content, news articles etc. are stored in DB not in folders/files, only thing in them not in default install is whatever you uploaded to site, images etc....
