Issues with sub menus being shown on index page [not collapsed]... please help

First let me apologize in advance because i didn't do an very through job of searching all of this forum. There is a possibility that this might have been covered before. I just started using CMSMS a short time ago... installation was a breeze and no errors were encountered. I began adding content thru the pages sections of the admin panel. it appeared that the site was displaying correctly with the new content i was adding. However when i loaded the index/home/defualt page... i noticed that some of the menus were expanded even though i was not on that specific page. no matter what i do i cannot get sub-menus to be collapsed when one is browsing the index/home/defualt page of the site. the menus would appear normal (collapsed) if one was viewing any other page besides the default (set in the admin section's pages panel)
you can see for yourself at http://www.goldengatepediatrics.com
on the index page three of the menus are expanded... and two are not expanded. All of them have the same templates and Stylesheets even though some are expanded and some are not???? so there is no consistency.
Perhaps there is a check box to keep specific menus from being collapsed but i have not been able to find it?
Please help
thanks
