I've tried to install the tag from http://dev.cmsmadesimple.org/projects/gallery2/. This woun't work - I get following error:

Parse error: parse error, unexpected $ in C:\Programme\xampp\htdocs\cms0112\plugins\function.gallery2.php on line 72

But this is not the problem for now. The problem was I get this error as I want accessing to admin area.

I think it should NOT be possible to inhibiting admin access with a buggy module / plugin.

I agree that it's a good idea. It's a little tricky to evaluate the code during the loading process, but I think it's possible. I'll have to look into it a bit more.
