SPAM in "readme first"

Hi there,

I think you all have noticed the attempts to persuade us to become poker affiliates, buy pills or visit p**n and download sites. :-\
However, they seem just to post in the readme first forum...

Wouldn't it be possible to make it only writable by admins to prevent automated etries?
Or are these antries really hand made by an army of cyber criminals sitting in jungle sweatshops with broadband conenction for forum spamming?
Would the spam stop or would it begin to spread over all forum sections?

Just a thought.

Best Nils

I agree "readme first" should be read only for end users. I've already trashed spam in it (and banned the spammer).
BTW thanks to all moderators for the spam trashing/banning and to spam reporters. Nice community work.

Is this spam comming in due to CMSMS winning second place?
Is it because the application is known to a broader audience?

Probably because of better known in marked yes - AND - the spammers have found we _have been_ poor at handling the spam.
