Hi there, I have read the instructions on how to edit/add content. Looks very simple... but when I click on Submit, Apply or Preview... all that happens is all the text etc I have edited or added disappears from the editor and no changes occur to the original page that I thought I had edited.
And if I try to add a new page, the same thing happens plus no new page is created.

Am I missing something?

Okay more info

Preview – to preview the page without saving or leaving the editing window
this just erases all I just typed up.

Submit – to submit the changes and return to Content » Pages
does not bring me to that page... it just erases all I just typed


Apply – to apply the changes you made, but still staying in the editing window
I stay in editing window but all my typing is gone

If I shut off the FCKeditorX then I can add or edit content... if I use the editor neither function works.

So what can it be... any ideas how to get the editor to work with adding content?

What kind of browser have you?

Explorer 6.0 same problem in Fire Fox 1.5

Please try on UNINSTALL and INSTALL back the FCK module.

Tell me.

I uninstalled the whole CMS.... will have it back up in an hour... if it still doesn't work I will find the version numbers and post. Actually I will post no matter what happens.

even tried uninstalling and re-installing FCK and still same results.

maybe I should try a whole new download?

just installed a fresh download of CMSMS ... same problem.

too bad because this CMS looks very easy.

what does this mean?

I can see that it is installed under modules but it does not show up under
extensions.

I have set it to my default editor as well.

Maybe I didn't do this right.

I uninstalled the previous FCKeditorX
and deleted all the files from the server.

Then I uploaded the new FCKeditorX
that you told me to install. Once uploaded
I installed the new editor but then got a
screen that said

Be sure to set "Modify FCKeditorX" permissions to use this module!

So I am lost... I am not sure what it is asking me to do

The editor is installed and it is my default editor but the editor
doesn't appear when I try to add or edit content.

it just means to set Group Permissions so "Modify FCKeditorX" is checked
off.

It is checked off and I see no reason why it wouldn't work but the editor
does not show up when I try to add/edit content.

It is as if the java script or whatever loads the editor isn't working.
