Project is to convert the existing website design at www.locustvalleyfd.com to CMSMS templates.

- Grab styles off of existing website
- Template needs to be tested on PC(IE6,7, FF) & mac (SAFARI 2,3 & FF)
- Template must include 2-column page layout, menu manager, same multi-level CSS navigation style with the CMSMS menuactive class, footer
- You must PM me with examples of a CMSMS template you have created.

*Note the design will have 2 layouts (homepage and secondary page).

If you want, you can also make a bid on this at https://www.getafreelancer.com/projects/Website-Design/Convert-Website-CMSMS-Templates.html
or PM me to discuss.

Thanks.

Henry,

There are two ways to approach this;
1. If you do not have a good handle on how CMSMS works, it's probably easiest to find an existing CMSMS template that comes "close" to the design and layout you currently have for Locust Valley, then swap out the graphic that come with the SMSMS template for the locust Valley ones. There might be some sizing issues to deal with in the CSS or you can adjust you graphics to match. If the CMSMS template is too busy with other modules and stuff you don't want or need, it is real simple to just comment-out the tag, or remove it completely. Always make sure you are working on the correct template file (it's pretty easy.
I had great success tweaking the "Grass Stains" template here http://oreap.org/

2. The far more involved way to go about it is to get to understand exactly how CMSMS works, including the functionality and relationship of the various modules, attached themes and attached styesheets. THEN, importing the various "Smarty Tags" into your existing layout. I've also done this before, but along the way I found that the database was looking for or expecting certain tags to be in place and I'd left them out, which might result in funky behavior or a broken or compromised database. Porting CMSMS to new and unique templates is a great way to have fun and possibly make money. Your only requirement is that you fully understand how CMSMS functions... which, by comparison to other CMS's... is a walk in the park.

If your pressed for time and don't deal with minor frustrations well, then I would get Grass Stains and tweak it to suit your needs.

Have fun.
