Help needed with if loops and news to create the following


January 2009
Sample News Article 1

Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetuer adipiscing elit. Vivamus posuere.

Sample News Article 2

Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetuer adipiscing elit. Vivamus posuere.

February 2009
Sample News Article 3

Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetuer adipiscing elit. Vivamus posuere.


I have got as far a s a seperate template and worked out calling it with the date format
{news summarytemplate="Diary_sum"  dateformat='%B %G'}
But how do I gather all January put only one header January 2009  then show all Januarys articles then  loop thru Feb and so on...
