Group Assignments Problem in 1.8.2

I just upgraded to cms 1.4.1
When making any changes to the Group Assignments page, all group assignments are lost -- the cms_user_groups table gets emptied. Thankfully I had made an sql backup shortly before doing this, but WOW was that scary. We have a lot of users and a lot of groups.
Any thoughts on why this happens?

If this is reproducible you should spot this in the IRC channel. (Faster than the forum for such a crash issue).

This is fixed in SVN. 1.5.3 will be released upcoming week.

I'm getting this same error again now in ver 1.8.2
Same issue, when applying changes to "Group Assignments" page, everything gets wiped from this table.
Anybody have any suggestions?

What do you mean with Applying, as the apply-button there is ONLY for filtering.
There is only Submit/Cancel for the storing of the data.
