That is a quote from the home page. If you are an experienced web developer why would you want a simple CMS?
What expertise do you need to set up CMSMS?
Do you need to know code like PHP or XHTML?

I do not know PHP nor XHTML but have managed to set up an SMF Forum without much trouble.
Can I set up an SMSMS site?

You can, with minimal skills, install CMSMS onto an existing webserver. Just copy it up and run the install, have you read the documentation? So it is simple.

However, if you want to write professional websites then you can. CMSMS is very flexible, (as all CMS's should be - but many arn't), you can work the way YOU want! CMSMS lets professionals concentrate on the design,  or the layout or requested features.  The basic CMS is covered.

For more advanced sites  I would suggest you learn:
PHP
Smart
XHTML
CSS
and probably Javascript.
Also perhaps Apache web servers?

I started off like you, or close to, i only really knew/know CSS & Html and how to install scripts, however i found that using CMSMS was extremely simple and ideal for those that wanted to have a site that was very dynamic but also manageable with a click of a button.

This install is very simple, however if you have no previous experience of any coding background at all i suggest you certainly take Russ' advice and do some reading. I am personally still looking at PHP i just struggle with where to start, i've tried several things but got nowhere really, lucklily i know what a Var is and what echo does

To be honest mate if you have installed SMF then CMSMS install isn't too different, input a few details and your away, it's just the customising that may be a bit tricky.
