Uploads Module: Style input and textarea tags directly??

Hi all
I'm really sorry if this has been asked and solved elsewhere, but I've searched and searched everywhere but to no avail.
I'm fairly new to CMSMS but have been having hours of fun delving deep and playing around with it. I'm now really beginning to get to grips with it.
However, my problem is this: I'm running the Uploads module (version 1.3.1) which I LOVE, but I really need to be able to modify the input and textarea tags directly (for the upload file form).
I've managed to style both of those elements by wrapping the entire form in a div and styling the elements within, but I'd love to be able to add a little javascript onfocus function to the inputs and textareas, as well as asigning the textarea it's own id if possible.
I've trawled through all the files in the Uploads module via FTP but cannot seem to find anywhere that shows where those tags are created. Like I say, I'm new to this and fairly new to PHP as a whole (I'm used to hand-coding pure XHTML/CSS sites) but I'm a quick learner! PLEASE can anybody help?
Many thanks for reading this
David
