frontend user module

Hi.
In the Frontend User Management.. I'm adding a new user under the User tab, the email address field defaults to 20 characters.
Problem is the email address I wish to use is more than 20 characters in length. Is there a way to fix this in the admin? If not, could it be adjusted to a larger length for a future update?
