Is ther a way to customize the way the news module looks? Both on the main page and then the news posts page?

Yes, via the stylesheet.

You might want to check the Help section (within the CMSms Admin control panel) next time, before you ask for help. ;)

But as Nullig stated, you can customize the way the module looks by adjusting the "summary" and "detail" templates in the "news" section in the admin control panel.

I marked this solved.

That 'stuff' is generated by the smarty tags in the templates ($entry->author for instance). You can easily remove those from the template.

Good luck with it.

Haven't worked with wordpress a lot, but it's true that there's a lot to adjust with CMSms, but that's the beauty of the software imho.

When I go to edit these templates under "news"

I get this:

Error 403: Forbidden

Make sure all permissions are correctly set to specs in install manual...

Go to users & groups > group permissions > admin and make sure all are ticked...
