CMSMS with smelly sites

Hi I'm a CMS newbie looking to package a free CMS for clients when they get their site optimised with us. I really only need basic editing functionality, so that clients can work on their own content without fear of breaking the website. Adding pages, changing images etc. is not required.

I've got an installation of CMSMS running and think that it looks pretty nice, and comes well recommended - but the issue is that lots of the sites I work with are pretty badly made, and I was wondering how much of a pita it is to plug big, over-complex sites into this, or any CMS. (I've had a quick shot at manipulating some pages into CMSMS templates, but the videos I'm referring to are working on really simple "lorem ipsum" pages - so I got a bit lost trying to follow them)

To be honest CMSMS is overkill for what I require, but then so is every other CMS I've looked at. Is it strage to request a system with *less* functionality?  ::) Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

James

CushyCMS might be more suited to what you require. I've only ever checked out the demo movie.
