using php

Hi!
I am very new to CMSMS though not new to php. So I have a very noob question:
How do I use a block of php code in my pages..
let's say I want to have a simple form for whatever and I want some php variables to be displayed.
How can this be done ??
(I am sure there is a very simple way to do this, but I couldn't figure it out)
