"templates_c is not writable", but it's already 777. What gives?

Hi all,

First up, let me way that this is about the tenth CMSMS install I've done (without problems) and I love it.

But now I've hit a snag.

I'm trying to install 1.3. I have already chmod 777 the requisite folders but I keep receiving this error on install:

/export/web/infsweb/tmp/templates_c is not writable, exiting

I've invoked CHMOD in both my FTP proggy and SSH to make sure. Checking permissions, they are FINE.

My environment:
Apache/2.0.63 (Unix)
PHP/5.2.6
safe_mode off

I'm really stuck here! Any ideas??

Soots.

Try 775 or 755...

Thanks Mark - yeah, tried those combos but still nothing.

One thing that could be a barrier: the admin won't allow files with a *.inc suffix. I'm wondering if that throws a spanner in the works?
