The example has been moved to
http://www.gwendallmavic.fr/index.php/bijoux.html

It looks fine, so I downloaded the module at http://dev.cmsmadesimple.org/frs/?group ... ase_id=130 (BTW it is quit old!), extracted the files to a subfolder SimpleViewer under Modules, I installed the module, so now it is active.
Then I replaced the code as indicated above in the SimpleViewer.module.php file.

I made a subfolder group01 under upload , added some photos and started a new page.

However there is no option SimpleViewer in the content type.

What Did I Do Wrong?

Please read module help - SimpleViewer needs Uploads module too.

But you can use Album module or AB Flash Gallery too.

This is what the help file says:
First, Create a category for your gallery using the Uploads module. Then place some jpg files into that folder Note: this module only handles jpegs at this time
That was the easy part. No problem: I put some jpg files in uploads/images/flash/.
Secondly, select "SimpleViewer Flash Gallery" from the content page in the cmsms admin
I found that option directly under Content. and click on "Add Gallery" in the galleries tab. I added a gallery, I selected the image path of gallery Flash, named it Flash album and then pressed Submit after which I returned to page SimpleViewer Flash Gallery
Image count indicated 0 (zero) files!
I repeated the steps with path uploads/flash/ and still no images were found.

So the front end only shows the title Flash album and some blanc space. No album, not in IE7 and not in FF2

Have you upload the files with FileManager or with Uploads module? How have you called SimpleViewer module?

Hello Cyberman

As mentioned in my last post I uploaded files with the Uploads module. I choose path /uploads/flash.

When I check with my FTP programme FileZilla there is an /uploads/flash and also an uploads/flash/thumbs/ each with 5 files.
With File manager I can see the files in /uploads/flash and there is an empty (!!) thumbs subfolder. So I uploaded them with file manager and now they are present in FM

SimpleViewer Flash Gallery counts 5 files. So the ID is 5. In contains 5 flies.

Inside page http://www.edelsmidfrentz.nl/index.php?page=flash-album I inserted the line
{cms_module module=SimpleViewer gallery=5} between some lines of text.

http://www.edelsmidfrentz.nl/uploads/fl ... Viewer.xml looks similar to http://www.gwendallmavic.fr/uploads/bij ... Viewer.xml
In http://www.edelsmidfrentz.nl/uploads/flash/ and http://www.edelsmidfrentz.nl/uploads/flash/thumbs/ all files show
So all files are present and all paths are correct. The page source looks fine too.

When I press ^top on my page I get a black arrow and a link to http://www.airtightinteractive.com/simpleviewer/

At my wits end I tried FireFox: and there is my gallery!!!

So, it is a IE problem. However the shows on http://www.gwendallmavic.fr work fine in IE

Anyone any ideas

Hello

I also try to use Simpleviewer in my CMSMS 1.3
With Upload module v.1.17

I have a problem at the very beginning at creating category in Upload module: whatever I try as Server Path I get always the error "Empty Path"

1. Must the folder preexist in the uploads directory ?

2. For exemple for an existing folder album1 placed in uploads/images/photos/ what must be the exact formulation in "Server Path" ?

Can someone help me please ?

can you post the URL of your site?

I still don't get an album with IE7.
I see an album with tiny thumbnails and small pictures in FF3
Safari 3 shows the SimpleViewer gallery as it should be shown
http://www.edelsmidfrentz.nl/index.php?page=flash-album

Anyone any suggestions on how to get it work in all these browsers?

Does your IE have a blocker set to block it?... or do you get error mess.?...

Re: [SOLVED at las!!] Pb with SimpleViewer Gallery with IE and FF, not in Safari

Hello Mark

The IE blocker cannot be the problem as the simple viewer shows fine on other sites.
Yesterday I asked libralion for the code he used on http://forum.cmsmadesimple.org/index.php/topic,22537.0.html, but he removed his topic, so I don't expect an answer there. He had a problem with too small images in FF that he obviously solved.
The album on http://www.gwendallmavic.fr/index.php/bijoux.html works fine too, so I used the code Dipsy gave, without success.

I found an other page by libralion with code: http://forum.cmsmadesimple.org/index.php/topic,23917.msg116314.html#msg116314 and an extentive explanation. I followed it step by step and - oh wonder - I have my albums in all three browsers!!

On my test page http://www.edelsmidfrentz.nl/index.php?page=flash-album I get
  • a nice album in IE7
an album with tiny images with a border in FF3
    a proper album in Safari3
Libralion's page http://www.jomedio.nl/cmsmadesimple/index.php?page=foto-s has the same image sizes on all pages, however also a black border.

At topic http://forum.cmsmadesimple.org/index.php/topic,23917.0.html you find the final answers: simple viewer is displayd properly now in three browsers.

One last thing: Firefox kept showing a fat border around the images, even when set to 0. This is solved by using border=1. You can change the color to make it even less prominent.

With some help I got there eventually....
Thanks for all contributions everyone.

I abandoned SimpleViewer Gallery.
It is a third party module, once adapted for a previous CMSMS version, but it is no longer working in a newer version.

That is why I won't be using adapted third party modules.
