Hi

I have cms 1.2.3 in a root_dir at a domain of mine, and now I am about to install it (also) in a sub_dir in the same domain, and with the same MYsql-database.
But in the installation menu I se this
Table prefix     _cms      - (should I change this when there also is another cms homepage using the database???)

Create Tables (Warning: Deletes existing data)    - (Does it mean that it will delete the tables/database from the cmspage that I have in the Root_dir???)

I need both pages (ROOT_dir and SUB_dir) to work by them self and to use the same database without interfering with each other, so does it make a mess if I just click continue in the walk-throug-installation??

I have/use: ASP - PHP5 - MySQL (if that has anything to do with it)

Hi Marius,

Step 1 = Backup your database. The "control panel" provided by your webhost will probably have phpMyAdmin, use the export function to create a backup of the database.

Step 2 = Backup your files.

Step 3 = Make certain that steps 1&2 are successful

Step 4 = Upload installation files to sub dir and start installation.

Step 5 = On the installation menu change table prefix to something of your choice. This must be different to what was chosen when the installation into the root dir was done. cms1_ will most likely be fine.

As for now I can't see any problems, and the database should work fine also..

Hello,

you can reinstall wherever you want and keep your existing database : rerun the install wizzard from where you want but don't ask it to recreate tables but to keep the existing ones (beware the checkbox). Just reuse your existing database, prefix, tables and data.
