News (Module) Question, Please Help me!!!

Dear Friends,
(Sorry my bad english). I'm new on CMSMS and i have some questions, i hope that you can help me! =)
1- I've been defined a custom field under News Module, called "picture", it has "file" type. When i add a news i attach a picture, then this picture is allocated in uploads/news/(id of news/picture.jpg. There'are a way to make that News Module uploads the files only to uploads/news/file.jpg and not uploads/news/newsid/file.jpf. I don't want to create a folder for each news to host a file....
2- Creating a new Summary Template I want to show the file uploaded, in this case, a picture.... then in my summary template i wrote:
picture}" />
but, what is the correct (php or smarty) variable to show the path of the file uploaded?...
