Swapping from an Windows IIS to Linux Server

Going to do a swop so as i can get pretty urls working at last!
Any thing i need to watch out for when doing the swop???

All windows nastyness : character encodings, backslashes, ugly paths (D:\folder), case insensitive filenames, odd (non rwx) access rights on files and folders...

You are going to blast losts of pain forever :-)

Remember to backup everything (files and database), to swap to same CMSms version and the possibility to rerun the install wizzard to regenerate a clean new config.php (uncheck "create tables" to keep your database content).

Thanks for the reply Pierre....the whole piont of the switch was to get rid of the pain! not endure it for ever!
