it would be really realy cool to integrate news and calendar modules.

The way I see it, you could optionally display certain categories as events in the calendar,  and when you click on the event in the calendar it dsplays as it does now (though I do think that the ability to have a separate template for news would be ultra cool as well.    I think that calendar is essentially another way to display news summaries.

What does everybody else think?

And if anyone wants to get started writing a Positions Vacant module I'd be very pleased to assist with front-end requirements for an admin screen and any beta testing.

That sounds great! I'd love to have an Events module that works the same way as News, with templates for summary and detail. I guess the main difference is that an Events module would show upcoming events instead of latest news (personally I only need it to show a list, no need currently for a calendar). And possibly with one or more additional fields, especially one for Location.

iNSiPiD, what do you mean by Positions Vacant module? Something similar to Radio Roster?

I tried to install on latest stable and a recent daily tar but in both cases the Module doesn't show up in the list.

Hans, it's because the Event folder is with uppercase E and events.module.php with lowercase. But there are some other bugs too that Patricia is looking at now.

Yeah, sorry for that Patricia. I renamed the folder instead of the file name, that's why I got errors.

Are you sure it won't work on earlier versions, Patricia? Maybe I can wait for .11 to come out of beta.

all works fine, thanks again. I have one little problem though.
The date format in the first screen is okay with dateformat="%d %b %Y" in the module-snippet.
But when on the details-page there is still the month day,year format.
In the help a have seen that I have to alter the details-module in order to get the day-month-year format but I cannot get it right.
Could you please give some further explanation?

the second code worked fine for the eventdates. The only "wrong" date left is Posted:, but thats less important to me because I won't show that anyway.

SUGGESTION
Put the date-functions (or how do you call that) standard in the templates, that will make life easier for everybody, doesn't matter what their language is. I will provide a table for in Documenttion with the strftime conversion specifiers.

Same applies to the new module. Would be nice!

I would upgrade now but I use TinyMCE and you said it doesn't work with .11.

wishy, I thought TinyMCE was your WYSIWYG of choice bt itseems XStandard is now the default editor??

FCKeditor is planned to be the next WYSIWYG, because it integrates a little better.  I'm still on the fence about whether that's going to stick or not.

What about XHTML compliance? At least 'transitional', yes?

I've been enjoying TinyCME but I'll always go with your opinion of what's best. My own experience with FCKeditor is that the code was pretty cruddy (particularly the multiple BRs in place of paragraphs). Also, getting your own styles in and modyfing the button set for was a pain from memory.

I kow megabob has been doing lots of updates and it's apparently come a long way though.
