A recipe module with a database, search-function, ratings and perhaps user-involvement (perhaps a simple form: Picture-upload, Ingredients, How to,..).

With the rate it module and the front end editor in news you can combine these to make your own module...

I am looking for something like this too, but have narrowed the choices down to cataloger which is very customizable, and list-it2 which is less flexible but easier to set up. However, I cannot get the Ajax star rating module to work with either of these.

What if we're using Products for a merchandise area of the site?
Can it be set up (automated) in a way that the monkeys people that would webmaster the site be able to not break everything?
Or could I just duplicate the Products module, change some key variables (db tables, module namespace, etc) and then have myself a "Recipe" module?

About cloning the Products module, I would say try it

Never done it myself...
Why I think the module is very usefull? I used it for
http://docs.cmsmadesimple.org/troublesh ... n-database.
Products in productscategories > Questions in categories > Recipes in multiple foodcategories...
I also want to use it for
http://www.smakelijketenzonderzout.nl/recepten (now in regular pages) but I already use the module for
http://www.smakelijketenzonderzout.nl/natriumtabel
Why go for a new developed module when we have an existing module with a good reputation...
