E-commerce Question

Hello. I use CMSMS for a handful of websites, and I really like it. Thanks to everyone who's helped to build it. Bravo!

I'm about to transfer a client's site to CMSMS, but one factor concerns me: e-commerce. This client will be shifting to e-commerce over the next year, adding a shopping cart and increasing their catalog from a few dozen items to about 100.

I can't really tell from what I've read in this forum whether CMSMS is or will soon be able to handle this. For example, is Shop Made Simple operational? I'm sure many of you have considered this issue, and I'd be grateful for suggestions. Should I go forward in CMSMS (and how so) or should I look elsewhere for a solution?

Thanks,
Phrontis

Hello Phrontis,

ShopMadeSimple is alive and very busy in development. Duketown and myself is hard at it. The administration section is almost done. Then to the frontend stuff (some of which duke is already busy with). So watch this spot, it's coming.

Thanks for your response Lahuindai, and thanks for your efforts. I'm looking forward to seeing what you come up with.

So am I. There are several shopping hacks/plugins/modules : simple cart, osCommerce bridge, yet other packages... this is a recuring topic. I hope Lahuindai and DukeTown will advertise their work and compare it to other CMSms options.

Have fun coding

Pierre M.

We will indeed, people are welcome to check the code out of svn and do some testing of the functionality that is there already. It would help us iron out the bugs. Also check out the website http://www.nobrain.co.nz/sms for details on progress and ideas etc.
