How to install CMS for a novice PHP/MySQL user?

I'm trying to set up CMS Made Simple for a church organisation to replace their existing html site. Unfortunately their current hosting package doesn't allow MySQL databases, so I've currently set up a freeSQL account to prove the worth of CMS Made Simple before they switch hosts. Since I'm the one with HMTL/CSS knowledge, the whole project has fallen to me, however PHP/MySQL are beyond me at the moment, and I can't seem to find any straight forward guides to setting up MySQL and PHP for beginners.

This brings me to my current problem. I've entered my details on freeSQL and had a database(I hope) called kilgraston made by freeSQL but with no tables in it; and I've unzipped the 0.10.2 CMSMadeSimple folder to my desktop and then used Smart FTP to upload it to the webhost. However I'm stuck at Step 2 in the Install guide, so is there any straight forward guides to setting this up - preferably with pretty pictures ;) - or can anyone guide me through the process of setting up CMS made simple and the MySQL database it needs?

Thanks

Step 2 is just asking for your admin details... you are adding new details here. Make up a username and password. Write it down.

Someone wrote this a long time ago.  It's a little out of date, but the process is essentially the same.  The only difference is that it asks for the admin username and password instead of just defaulting it.
