Mysqli - how to move to?

Hello,
newly I've got mysqli extension for my php. I've read CMSMS supports mysqli, right? If so, how can I "tell" my CMSMS projects already installed with mysql to use mysqli extension? Do I have to make new install or can I just play with config.php?
