One of the pages said "No question is too stupid." Well, I hope not.  I have been researching CMS's and thinking of installing CMSMS, but I really am not sure if even this would be 'overkill' for my situation.

I want my users to be able to change ONLY the content of the 6 to 10 pages I have made for them. They cannot change layout or style, just content (new images, text, event info, etc). And I want to make sure that only those approved can even change that on a page. They don't need to be concerned with xhtml or css or any other coding aspects of individual pages - just the content.

I looked over all the panels and possiblities in CMSMS, and it looks like too much for my non-technical clients to deal with. Can you 'hide' or restrict use of all panels and pages/templates in CMSMS except the few relating to page content?

You define which part of the template will be editable with {content} tag... where you put it only that area will be editable.

You can create different template for those non-editable pages, without {content} tag, and users will not be able to edit them.

You can define which parts of admin menu is visible to the client by creating a new group and by asigning only those permisions you want for that user.

You can even restrict users not to see the backend of cmsms at all with Frontend Users module (there is a video demonstration in docs) and 'edit' plugin (not tested myself, just heard, and currently thinking about implementing).

create new back-end user(s); do NOT assign them to a "group"; simply add them (by user) as "additional editors" on the specific page or pages they are allowed to edit.

if a back-end user does not have permissions to something.. they won't even "see it" when they log in.
