Please, do some research, and know how to do at least 'something' before you ask silly little questions like this in the forum.  The answer to your question is easy to find on google.  Why did you ask it here?

To use a content management system, you have to have some considerable knowledge.... it is not our job to teach you that.  if you're having a dumb little problem, or a brain block, or a problem specific to our CMS then we can and probably will help. But we cannot, and will not support users that don't know what they're doing.  Our job is not to do everything for you.

noobiekid,

are you running an environment that has PHP and SQL installed? Is it Unix/Linux or Windows?

If you have a provider, you should check there. If you run locally, you could run LAMP when you're on Linux, if you're on windows install XAMPP. Then you'll have both PHP/SQL to get you started.

This IS a place where people can ask questions.... after they've done their research and are asking questions related to our content management system, and put some thought and time into the problem.

AND they can only expect answers if they've provided some reasonable information that allows us to help.  You've done none of that.

We don't support generic 'how do I tie my shoes' questions.

I probably would have posted something helpful for you if I found this first, but really, Calguy is right.

Did you try googling: "create mysql database", and then check with your hosting provider? Because it's really not hard :) Especially if you have phpmyadmin. there is actually a "create database" button!

Its a Linux (red hat server) apache 2.2.3

I thought it would be nice to have it on a non domain server first, so i could learn exactly how it works before i installed it on my domain.

Maybe this is the problem..  Ill check more..

ps: didnt mean to be stupid but please answer others like you would be answerd too.

thanks for help.  ill google and more..

noobiekid,

are you running it locally or is it an ISP. If the ISP doesnt have PHP/SQL then you cant run the CMSMS there. If it is locally, check,

http://www.apachefriends.org/en/xampp-linux.html

to have both.

Still, even if you know what your doing...

1.  you didn't post any details about your environment or give any information to us to even allow us to help you
2.  this is a forum for cms made simple, not mysql, not debian or redhat, or apache even.  there are some topics
that are kinda grey, that are semi related to cms made simple, this isn't one of them.

We're here to support our package, not everybody elses.

Posts to this forum should generally be on topic, well researched, and completely detailed.  'Help, how do I create a database' is none of that.

When topics arrise, we spend considerable time googling, and experimenting with our configurations to solve problems for our users.  I expect nothing less out of them.

Its an ISP.  :)

Looks like my idea about trying it out on a non domain server was no good...

My ISP to my domain server has mysql, so i guess i must try that way.

Thanks for answers.

Have a great day :D

Ill be back  (with good questions)  ;D
