Ideas for building a site like reunion.com

I'd like to build a site similar to reunion.com but for businesses and I'm wondering if CMS Made Simple will work for my needs. Here's how I'd like the site to work:
1. User gets a welcome screen where they can search a business name.
2. Next screen is a login/sign-up form. They must be a registered user to view the search results.
3. Is the results of their search. Shows all companies that match what they searched for.
Let me know if this makes any sense and if I can do it with existing modules. Thanks for your help.
