Many thanks for that, Woof.
I had looked at the documentation page you refer to.
I know nothing about shell .... and having read various articles / looked at
various shell related sites I am none the wiser.
I think perhaps the user handbook might give a little more direction in this area
- then again perhaps I should stick to something that I understand !!!
If you could give me a steer in any particular direction I would be most appreciative.

Steve,
Read the second sentence of the link I gave you about the Documentation/handbook: it says :If you don't know what ssh is or if FTP is your only option you must install CMS Made Simple following Quick Install via FTP.
So try that FTP link.

You should also look at the Requirements link (the third sentence).

If you cannot or do not know what is FTP (File Transfer Protocol), or get confused with the Requirements, and if you cannot read past the first sentence, unfortunately I think maybe any Content Management System might not be for you. After the installation, you'll need some knowledge about modifying template, stylesheet, etc to make your own website.

And if you are still reading this, I recommend you also install the Sample Content and Template when you install your CMSMS.

When I first tried to install my CMSMS following all the steps in the Installation guide via FTP, I was successful. And when I was wondering about something, I read the Handbook. The table of Content (on the right of the page of the Handbook) is VERY good and self explanatory.

Have fun reading and please do a search of these very useful forums: chances are your problem has been answered before and you'll not have to wait for a reply.
