linking an uploaded file on a content page not working

Hi, I upload a PDF file to the /uploads folder OK.

When I try to link to that file from the WYSIWYG editor using the insert/edit link button, and then the browse button at the end of the URL link box, it opens ECK Recource Browser at what looks like the root / position and I cannot browse to the /uploads folder.

Am i doing some thing wrong?
If I try to use this screen to upload the file it appears to do nothing! Although I do appear to see a small ! mark as if the popup window has failed some how.

Any ideas?

Steve

I am running latest V1.2, on LAMP based web server.

Seams like a permission problem - how do you upload the pdf file? With FileManager or with FCK ressource browser?

File manager puts things in uploads by default.... unless you specify another directory.  Tiny looks for things in uploads/images by default I think.

Thanks for the advice.

When I go to upload via the FCK resource browser, it does not appear to upload the file. In the bottom left hand corner of the windows there is a yellow triangle with ! which leads me to believe some kind of error on loading the page.

Have tried on both IE and Firefox - same symptom.
