CMS Made Simple Forums

I am using cmsms 1.2 and I am experiencing file permissions problem.
In my global configuration I have set an umask of 002 (tested ok), but when I upload any file or image to the server, it always has 600 permission, which is causing me problems for the backup of the files..

I am getting the same thing.  Version 1.2.  experiencing both through main system and extensions that use uploads. 

test of mask gives the following -

Owner: Unknown
Permissions:
  Owner: Read,Write
  Group: Read,Write
  Other: Read
