Hi there,

I'm a newbie, so there's probably a very simple solution to my problem.  I have just installed the Album module and am unable to upload any images into an album.  I get the following error

There was an error uploading. Please check and make sure the folder is writable.

I found a previous post about the same problem

This suggested changing permissions to the uploads/images directory to 775.  I did this but the problem remained, plus I could no longer upload single images using the Image Manager.  I have changed the permissions to 777 and the Image Manager upload now works, but the Album upload still does not (same error).

Any ideas?

CMSMS 1.2 "Barbados"
PHP 4.4.7
MySQL 4.1.?
running locally on Mac OS 10.4

just an update....

Still no luck. 
Other album messages in the forums (i.e. http://forum.cmsmadesimple.org/index.ph ... 807.0.html) say that the umask (in Global settings) should be set to 002 or 000.  I tried this and when I pressed the test button I got the following error

No permission to write in directory. This could be caused by file permissions and ownership. Safe mode may also be in effect.

I am getting very confused now.  What is the directory being referred to here?  What is safe mode?  Could this error be related to my album upload problems?

Please help.  An image gallery is a really important component of the website I am building.

The second problem is now fixed.  The $CMSHOME/tmp directory didn't have write access.  Have corrected that but still not able to upload images into an album.

The upload/images permission is 777 so it shouldn't be a permissions problem.

Any suggestions?
